In an intervention addressed to His Majesty King Mswati III (photo), the ICJ requested that immediate measures be taken to restore the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law in Swaziland.

The ICJ requested the Guatemalan Government to take necessary measures to guarantee the safety of all members of the Mack Foundation, including Mr Romero, and to ensure protection for all those involved in seeking justice in this case.
The ICJ is dismayed that Habib Issa, a Syrian lawyer and founding member of the Human Rights Association, was sentenced on 19 August to five years imprisonment by the Syrian Supreme State Security Court for – among other charges – attempting to change the constitution by illegal means.
