The case concerns a child detained in a closed detention camp in Poland although the child has applied for international protection in the country. Under Polish law, unaccompanied children applying for refugee status should never be kept in closed detention camps. Eventually, the boy was released after 4 months of illegal detention, and placed in a care and educational facility. The District Court ordered compensation for the detention.
